Context

To create a projection mapping show for the grand opening of House 1881, the former Marine Police Headquarters. The project evolved into a regular attraction, designed to engage the general public and tourists within this historical Hong Kong landmark.

Challenge

To balance 3 distinct narrative layers: the building's 1880s heritage, the client's modern branding, and the core values of Hong Kong. I had to ensure the visual storytelling felt intuitive and impactful when projected onto the complex architecture of a heritage site.

Approach

I managed the creative direction and system integration to transform the hotel facade into a dynamic canvas. My work involved precise hardware setup to ensure the lighting show could run regularly, maintaining high-fidelity visuals that honored the site's history while delivering a modern brand message.

Impact

The resulting show became a signature experiential landmark, successfully bridging the gap between colonial history and contemporary insurance branding. By integrating complex hardware with a localized narrative, I provided an immersive public experience that celebrates Hong Kong's identity.
