Context

Agriculture is Science is an outdoor exhibition at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum. Through bilingual panels, it introduces visitors to the science and innovation behind familiar agricultural products, from food crops to everyday applications.

Challenge

The exhibition had to communicate scientific content to visitors moving through an open-air site. Each double-sided panel required clear visual hierarchy, legible bilingual text, and visual impact from different distances, while accommodating the display structures and outdoor viewing conditions.

Approach

Site planning, concept sketches, and a full-scale mockup shaped the layout and graphic direction. Bold colour fields, photographic imagery, and consistent iconography organized the double-sided panels. Detailed production artwork, print proofs, and on-site coordination carried the design through fabrication and installation.

Impact

The finished installation creates a clear outdoor reading experience, linking familiar products to the science behind Canadian agriculture. Consistent graphics and bilingual content support both quick visual discovery and closer exploration, extending science interpretation into the museum's outdoor environment.
