Community Project

client:

Community Alley Trappers

role:

Campaign system design: key visual, logo refresh, multi-format rollout.

professor:

Jamie McLennan

problem:

CAT needs volunteers, but “rescue” feels like a specialist role.

result:

A hero-framed campaign system with consistent assets across public touchpoints.

skills:

Visual hierarchy, art direction, identity, production mockups.

Context

Community Alley Trappers relies on volunteer action. I positioned the campaign around high-visibility “rescue team” cues so the public reads the message as community duty, not charity pity.

Challenge

The system had to stay readable at distance, work in multiple orientations, and keep a unified identity while rotating colors and imagery for variety across placements.

Approach

Used amber yellow as an instant identifier tied to real volunteer safety gear, paired with worker imagery protecting cats. Built a strict palette + type rule set (Anton + Myriad) and redesigned the logo into an umbrella mark for protection and rescue clarity.

Impact

Delivered a scalable asset kit: vertical posters, horizontal bus banners, IG volunteer templates, rescue/adoption/fundraising posts, clinic / pet-shop volunteer flyer, and on-the-ground mockups (raincoat uniform, rescue truck, bus shelter, shop window).
