Designing a 2-sided handout, we need to apply clear typographic hierarchy and paired humanist sans-serif with elegant serif fonts to reflect the brand’s gentle, natural values. We combined text and images to support an eco-conscious message with balanced grids and negative space.

I focused on typeface selection and image sourcing. I chose Inria Serif for all text levels to give a gentle, elegant tone, and paired it with Classico URW for the main title to add visual contrast. For photography, I selected soft-toned images provided by the professor, with a dominant orange-beige palette that communicates warmth and natural skincare. My goal at this stage was to build a calm, clean base that reflects the brand’s values.
In this stage, I defined my colour palette by sampling from 2 selected photos. For the front page, I chose creamy orange, light brown, and pink tones to create a warm, feminine feel that fits the cosmetics theme. For the back page, I used soft green, mint, and beige to reflect nature, product purity, and sustainability.
I explored different grid systems to organize content clearly. For the front page, I used a 3-column-grid and placed the model’s face in the center as the visual anchor. I arranged the text to radiate from this focal point, separating brand values and product benefits. On the back page, I applied a 4-column-grid to manage the heavier text load, splitting it into product features and contact information.
I completed the layout by InDesign and adjusted the structure based on professor's feedback. My goal was to move away from a typical block layout and merge text into the image space for better flow. The biggest challenge was avoiding a poster look and maintaining clarity as a handout.
